Playtime – Local Matters at Grill’d Kirrawee

We’ve had some great news - our Playtime playgroup has been selected to feature in the Local Matters initiative at Grill’d Kirrawee (South Village) from the start of May.

This is a simple and fun way for our church family and wider community to support Playtime while also helping us connect more locally.

Here’s how it works: when you buy a burger at Grill’d Kirrawee, you receive bottle caps based on what you spend. You then place those caps into one of three jars in-store. Each jar represents a local community group, and at the end of the month, the funding is shared based on how many caps each group receives.

Our jar will be there with the message that we’re raising money for new toys for Playtime. It’s a great practical outcome - but it’s also a really positive way for more people in the Shire to discover that we run a playgroup and are actively serving families in our local area.

So - get on down to South Village, grab a burger, and support Olivia and the Playtime team!

And just for fun, Grill’d also run a promotion where if your NRL team wins and you’re a Grill’d member, you can get a free burger on the following Monday morning. I wouldn’t know much about that supporting-the-winning-team experience as a Dragons supporter… but Sharkies fans, this might be your moment!

Thanks for helping us get behind Playtime and build connections in our community.

Acknowledgement Of Country

Gymea Anglican Church acknowledges the triune God, the Creator of heaven and earth and His ownership of all things (Psalm 24:1). We recognise that He gave stewardship of these lands upon which we meet to the First Nations Peoples of this country (Acts 11:26). In His sovereignty, He has allowed other people groups to migrate to these shores. We acknowledge the cultures of our First Nations Peoples and are thankful for the community that we share together now. We pay our respects to Dharawal speaking people who are the traditional custodians of the area now called Gymea, and their elders leaders, both past and present, and those who are rising up to become leaders. We pay our respect to all First Nations People and pray for God’s blessing on all Australians as we seek reconciliation and justice.
