This Sunday: One Service Only at 8am

Due to our annual Parish Weekend Away down at Waterslea in Nowra, there’ll be only one church service at Gymea Anglican this Sunday – 8am.

We normally have three services each Sunday:

  • 8am – a traditional Anglican Prayer Book service, usually with Holy Communion

  • 10am – a contemporary service with a kids program

  • 5pm – another contemporary service, also with a kids program and our biggest family crowd, followed by dinner ($5 a head or $20 per family)

The 5pm service in particular has become a great weekly rhythm for many families – a way to feed the kids, enjoy community, and finish the weekend well before the school week starts.

But this Sunday (28 July), all our regular services will pause while many of us are away together for the weekend.

If you're staying in town, we’d love to invite you to join us at 8am for a special service of Holy Communion.

  • Guest preacher: Rev. Graham Crew – former Senior Minister here at Gymea, now serving as Interim Senior Minister at St Philip’s Caringbah.

  • Graham will be preaching from Mark 8, helping us see Jesus clearly.

  • Rev. Gordon Robinson, one of our retired clergy, will be presiding at the Lord’s Supper.

Meanwhile, down at Waterslea, our guest speaker Archie Poulos will be opening the book of Daniel, helping us think about what it means to have faith in an uncertain world.

We’ll be back to our normal rhythm of 8, 10 and 5 the following Sunday (4 August), kicking off a new sermon series in 1 Corinthians. Whether you're away or at home this week – we look forward to seeing you soon!

Acknowledgement Of Country

Gymea Anglican Church acknowledges the triune God, the Creator of heaven and earth and His ownership of all things (Psalm 24:1). We recognise that He gave stewardship of these lands upon which we meet to the First Nations Peoples of this country (Acts 11:26). In His sovereignty, He has allowed other people groups to migrate to these shores. We acknowledge the cultures of our First Nations Peoples and are thankful for the community that we share together now. We pay our respects to Dharawal speaking people who are the traditional custodians of the area now called Gymea, and their elders leaders, both past and present, and those who are rising up to become leaders. We pay our respect to all First Nations People and pray for God’s blessing on all Australians as we seek reconciliation and justice.
