Can’t I Just Manifest My Own Reality?

✨ This Week at Church: Manifesting, the Law of Attraction & New Age Spirituality ✨

“Manifest it.”“Put it out into the universe.”“Visualise it and it will come.”

These ideas are everywhere right now—on TikTok, in self-help books, and in everyday conversation. From vision boards to the law of attraction, they tap into something real: our longing for purpose, control, and something beyond ourselves in a chaotic world.

But what does the Bible have to say about all this?

Is this neutral territory… or is there something here we need to be careful about?

This Sunday, we’re taking some time to explore the broader spiritual trend often called New Age spirituality—a spectrum that can range from positive thinking and self-help at one end, through to more overtly spiritual or even occult practices at the other. At its heart, it tends to centre on human experience and inner power rather than the living God.

We won’t be able to cover everything in depth—but it will be a great chance to step back, think clearly, and see what God’s Word says.

Whether you’re a long-time believer or just exploring faith, this is a really relevant conversation for the world we’re living in.

👉 Come along, bring a friend, and let’s dig into it together.

Acknowledgement Of Country

Gymea Anglican Church acknowledges the triune God, the Creator of heaven and earth and His ownership of all things (Psalm 24:1). We recognise that He gave stewardship of these lands upon which we meet to the First Nations Peoples of this country (Acts 11:26). In His sovereignty, He has allowed other people groups to migrate to these shores. We acknowledge the cultures of our First Nations Peoples and are thankful for the community that we share together now. We pay our respects to Dharawal speaking people who are the traditional custodians of the area now called Gymea, and their elders leaders, both past and present, and those who are rising up to become leaders. We pay our respect to all First Nations People and pray for God’s blessing on all Australians as we seek reconciliation and justice.
