About the event

Let's Celebrate

Church life can be full — sometimes wonderfully full — but it’s easy to move from one event to the next without slowing down to give thanks.

Throughout the Scriptures, God’s people are called to celebrate His faithfulness. The Old Testament is full of festivals and feasts marking His provision and mercy. And in the New Testament, Jesus gives us the Lord’s Supper — a regular rhythm of remembrance and thanksgiving. Celebration is part of our worship.

This year at Gymea, we have so much to thank God for.

Just off the top of my head we’ve welcomed the Balhachets, we've seen Olivia return to ministry, sent Ella to Fiji for Year 13, partnered in mission with Broken Hill, and enjoyed a wonderful Fuse Camp. We faced a mini financial crisis and saw the Lord answer our prayers. And now we also get to celebrate Joel Creek’s faithful two years…

Acknowledgement Of Country

Gymea Anglican Church acknowledges the triune God, the Creator of heaven and earth and His ownership of all things (Psalm 24:1). We recognise that He gave stewardship of these lands upon which we meet to the First Nations Peoples of this country (Acts 11:26). In His sovereignty, He has allowed other people groups to migrate to these shores. We acknowledge the cultures of our First Nations Peoples and are thankful for the community that we share together now. We pay our respects to Dharawal speaking people who are the traditional custodians of the area now called Gymea, and their elders leaders, both past and present, and those who are rising up to become leaders. We pay our respect to all First Nations People and pray for God’s blessing on all Australians as we seek reconciliation and justice.
