What can I expect?

Friday Night

A relaxed start. Grab dinner on the way down, then join us for dessert at Waterlsea as we settle in and connect.

Saturday

Two morning sessions, followed by free time in the afternoon (plus an optional workshop with Archie).

After dinner, enjoy a talent show and a relaxed evening of board games and puzzles.

Sunday

A final morning session with time to reflect and discuss what we’ve learned, followed by a leisurely lunch before heading home.

Is there a children’s/youth program?

Yes! Speak to Olivia and Scott for more details.

Why should I come full-time?

We strongly encourage everyone to stay for the full weekend if possible. Weekend Away is more than just teaching—it’s about building deep, lasting relationships within our church family. It’s a chance to connect across services, grow together, and enjoy meaningful fellowship.

Waterlsea is a comfortable, well-heated centre with beautiful views.

All rooms include:

We’re hoping to organise a bus for Saturday. Please indicate your interest when registering or speak with a team member.

What is the cost? What if I can’t afford it?

We aim to keep costs as low as possible, but we understand it can still be a stretch.

If cost is a barrier, please speak confidentially with Dave or Scott—support is available.

Acknowledgement Of Country

Gymea Anglican Church acknowledges the triune God, the Creator of heaven and earth and His ownership of all things (Psalm 24:1). We recognise that He gave stewardship of these lands upon which we meet to the First Nations Peoples of this country (Acts 11:26). In His sovereignty, He has allowed other people groups to migrate to these shores. We acknowledge the cultures of our First Nations Peoples and are thankful for the community that we share together now. We pay our respects to Dharawal speaking people who are the traditional custodians of the area now called Gymea, and their elders leaders, both past and present, and those who are rising up to become leaders. We pay our respect to all First Nations People and pray for God’s blessing on all Australians as we seek reconciliation and justice.
