Questions to Ask

ree

Here are some honest questions as we follow Jesus:

  1. Where do I look for worth and identity besides Jesus?

Am I finding my value in what I do, what people think of me, or things I own instead of in Him?

  2. What competes with God as my greatest joy?

Are there other things—relationships, achievements, comforts—that take the place of fully delighting in Him?

  3. Where is my life only partly surrendered to God?

Are there areas I hold back, keeping them for myself rather than giving them fully to Him?

  4. Where am I hesitant to fully follow biblical teaching?

Are there truths in Scripture I struggle to accept or live out boldly?

  5. What shows my heart isn’t fully focused on becoming like Jesus?

Do other goals subtly take priority over being transformed into His image?

Asking these questions isn’t about guilt - it’s about learning to live more fully for Jesus and letting Him shape everything in our lives.

Acknowledgement Of Country

Gymea Anglican Church acknowledges the triune God, the Creator of heaven and earth and His ownership of all things (Psalm 24:1). We recognise that He gave stewardship of these lands upon which we meet to the First Nations Peoples of this country (Acts 11:26). In His sovereignty, He has allowed other people groups to migrate to these shores. We acknowledge the cultures of our First Nations Peoples and are thankful for the community that we share together now. We pay our respects to Dharawal speaking people who are the traditional custodians of the area now called Gymea, and their elders leaders, both past and present, and those who are rising up to become leaders. We pay our respect to all First Nations People and pray for God’s blessing on all Australians as we seek reconciliation and justice.
