About the event

A free art group for those interested in painting. All levels are welcome. For ages 16 and older.

The primary focus will be on acrylic painting, however water-soluble oils, watercolours and drawing mediums can be used. Please do not bring anything that produces fumes.

You will need to bring your own supplies and materials. If you are not sure what you might need, we would suggest starting with:

  • blue (warm/cold)
  • yellow (warm/cold)
  • white
  • black

A set of flat and round acrylic brushes from fine to large.

A canvas or paper that can be used with acrylic paints

An apron

A pencil & erasor

A pad of drawing paper

The Riot Art online store often has sales and afforable prices if you need to find anything: https://riot.com.au/

otherwise you can go to your local art store to pick up these supplies.

Run by our resident Graphic Designer and painting enthusiast Jessamy Hunter. She has over 10 years experience working in design and studied Visual Communication at UTS. Although she works primarily in the digital space, she has a love for painting and drawing and believes art is a fantastic way to express and process emotion, explore one's own creativity and help build community.

Numbers will be limited, online registration is required to ensure a spot.
